Decent place for food on third street...the food is filling while not killing your pocket.
Barney's
Beanery is a place if you're in Santa Monica and hungry...and don't
exactly want to go to McDonalds...and don't want to go to a place that
is $$$ or $$$$.
Food-wise...it has a lot of chile..and a lot of sandwiches...all are nothing special.
Very cool sports bar though ...while it has a good selection of beer..it can get pricey if you're trying to go to the dark side.
This is place is de facto place to go to when there is " where do you want to go eat" gridlock amongst your friends.

Taiwanese Cuisine
Super Dive-y Taiwanese food
This place is legit Taiwanese food....although it may be too Taiwanese for some people. Food is average...although with Seafood Port just next door...I honestly would choose Seafood Port over Taiwanese cuisine
The popcorn chicken and minced meat rice were good...but looked very night market-ish; hence although tasty...it looked home-made.
The decoration inside isn't the focal point of this place...its like eating back in Asia!
Also don't forget to ask the owner about the Bill Clinton poster on his wall!

168 Garden
Spicy food galore!!
This place is awesome. It's cheap..and totally filled with spicy Szechuan style food.
Can't go wrong with the water-hot oil fish, and spicy lamb.
This place gets kind of packed..but it's all worth the wait.
No need to say more...try it out!

Ichimi-an
Ichimi-an turned out to be a pretty cool place tucked away in rolling hills plaza.
The highlight of the menu was the tempura. There are decent tempura combinations for under $10 dollars. It comes with miso soup and salad.
Not my usual hangout spot...but maybe I'll give it a try next time I have a urge for tempura.

King's Hawaiian Bakery & Restaurant
Two words: Paradise Cake.
I've only been to the bakery portion of King's Hawaiian. This is because of one big reason: The paradise cake.
It is a layered Guava, passion fruit and lemon chiffon. Every bite is hawaiian goodness. I've had this cake for at least 50 different birthday parties.
You haven't lived in Torrance until you've eaten this.

Meskla Dos
Sorry for the long gap...but finally back!
Best burger on Guam.
Conveniently located within walking distance by most of the hotels in Tumon, Meslka Dos is the best of both worlds. You get the best of Chamorro cuisine without having to give up the comforts of the mainland.
A lot of tourist and military personal go here, so it does get crowded.
By far the best combo is the Ranchero burger with the cinnamon dusted sweet potato fries. The burger is made right in front of you, ground beef and all.
Guam is a small island, but there's still plenty of places to eat!

Father's Office
LA has great weather and super trendy restaurants. Father's Office is by far a trendy restaurant.
Sweet potato fries are super awesome.
The burger comes with gruyere, blue cheese, caramelized onions and of course spinach.
Beer selection is amazing.
Seating gets tricky at night time...so I would recommend coming early especially on Fridays and Saturdays.
Be prepared to drop some $$$ here. The burger is $12, and an average draft beer cost around $8. (With an open tab ..that gets pretty pricey)
F.O. is a cool place, maybe for a date...or if you're trying to impress some east coast friend expecting a good time in LA.

Big Wing Wong
Cheap-o eats in NYC.
Wandering around NYC's chinatown, you get an array of chinese restaurants to choose from. Some have flashing neon signs, while others have exotic animals hanging from the front.
Big Wing Wong is a good choice if you are looking for some place cheap and decent to eat. The roast duck is pretty good, and they have a decent lobster special. The only downsides are that the portions are kind of small, and don't expect 5-star service.
I wouldn't go out of my way to find this place...but if you do stumble upon it...it's a safe place to go to.

Merilu
Small place, Long pizza
After wandering around the theater district, Merilu came up as a place to go eat.
Merilu is small place...there's 10 seats in the whole place. The service was okay...typically if you are used to New York service.
And the pizza?...for a thin crust pizza it was very good...and then Merilu does hold its own because the pizza taste homemade..but don't expect to be blown away
Definitely more of a date-hipster kind of place....it's not a fold a pizza joint.

Good Kitchen Seafood Restaurant
It's so good,it's the only Chinese place that i go in Flushing.
Looking for some quality Chinese food? Good Kitchen has it all..honey walnut shrimp, lobster, noodles..and of course dim sum. Although it is more on the pricier side, they do have the quality of food to back it up. There's plenty of room to sit..but it does get rather crowded.
Seriously..whenever I go out with family in new york, this is the only Chinese place we go to.

Chinatown Ice Cream Factory
Almond cookie and egg custard ice cream? Chinatown Ice cream factory is definitely worth a trip while you are in NYC.
Yes this place is a little pricey, and they "had"a Jeremy Lin topping (now that he's in Houston..I'm not sure if they have it).
If you are up for trying exotic flavors this place is great without going too weird. Black Sesame, egg custard and almond cookie are all great to try.

Lombardi's Pizza
Looking for the essential NYC pizzeria?
Lombardi's Pizza didn't disappoint.Tucked away in lower Manhattan, Lombardi's is withn walking distance from Chinatown, and little Italy. For first timers, the white pizza (no red sauce, all cheese and cream) makes this place stand out, without having to do anything too exotic.
The line gets super long...but that is a testament to how good and popular this place is. if you don't want to wait..they do have take out.
I had a great time...even though we ended up eating outside sitting outside on the bench next to the Mona Lisa!

Ingredients
Overpriced snack shop...for the very very indulgent staying at the Sheraton
Ingredients sits right behind the infinity pool at the Sheratan Waikiki. It has sandwiches for $15 and salads for about $10..and no the food isn't very gourmet. My co worker had coupons for this place, so I got free loco mocos ($19.99) anytime I went over.
I have yet to spend any money at this place, nor do I plan to. I know this is Hawaii...but wow...

Atlantis Seafood & Steak
If you are lazy and have $$$ to blow...
Atlantis Seafood and steak does have a good assortment of fish and steaks. The food has nice presentation...but taste-wise is very average. I ended up getting the Hawaiian fish Loco Moco ($24.95). It look nice, but the portion size was very small.
My goodness this place is $$$ and very over priced. Don't be lazy...I know you are in vacation in waikiki...and it is very tempting to just grab something right on Kalakaua, but coming from a true foodie and yelper perspective..there other cool places to try.

Fatty's Chinese Fast Food
Ahhh yess..its Fatty's
Basically a hole in the wall Chinese restaurant on Kuhio Blvd. The food is cheap, but good.
Hardly any seats, but if you are by yourself or just want some cheap-O Chinese food, nice quaint spot to go..
Be sure to go early though as they do run out of certain noodles, ( they ran out of Beef chow fun!!!!)..anyways the menu is totally customizable, so you have plenty of choices to choose from.
