Given that you are in Waikiki, this place is a good mix of being pretty elegant without killing your wallet.
I'm
not too big a fan of fushion-ee asian/sushi restaurants, but given that
the owner is the son of the guy who started benihana, I'll admit that
Doraku gives off a good vibe.
Some of the things I got were:
Rock Fish Tempura ( $9.95) i thought they used too much batter, and could taste the fish.
Red dragon Roll ( $13.95) was pretty cool, and even looked like a dragon.
For
this place, I would stick to the rolls, as they are pretty filling in
itself. The location in Waikiki is stuck right in the middle of
everything, so you can stroll afterwards along Kalakua.

Souvaly Thai Cuisine
My co-worker's favorite place. If you like spicy food...ask the server
to make it "Lao" spicy, as my co worker thinks that Lao food is the
spiciest.
This is more of a date place, there is a good ambiance to it. The food is a bit pricey (compared to the main land), but it is quite authentic thai/lao food. The sticky rice comes in wooded baskets, which is pretty cool. I got the ox tail soup, which was pretty good and filling.
This place is a bit on the fancier side, but this place isn't bad for a date or celebrating something.
