Feng Mao Mutton Kebab

WOW a place with cheap-O lamb skewers and beer...now I can go into food coma.

Great place, and hidden gem in LA. A Korean/Chinese restaurant on the outskirts of K-town, Feng Mao Mutton Kebab is a great place to hangout with friends, have some good food, and of course to drink.

Although looking rather small and ordinary...this place pretty much blew me away.

There is a extensive menu of different types of meat..all within reasonable prices. There is also an additional menu of Chinese goodies such as dumplings and green onion pancakes. The drinks are plenty here...enough to have a good time.

Would come back anytime..highly recommended!

Kushi Shabu

Some Ballerz Shabu...

My Japa-ohlic  friend proclaimed that is place was  the best shabu shabu in town. To an average eater, i thought it was a good all you can eat restaurant that was a little on the pricey side ($35 ish)

This place was crowded..and then they some what ran out of meat on the Saturday night that we went. The beef I have to admit was quite tasty...but it cost a pretty penny for all of that Kobe beef.

For an authentic Japanese experience Kushi is the place the go!..just prepare to pay some $$ for it.

En Fuego Grill & Poke

Awseome place to eat on the west end of oahu.

If you are staying at Ko' lina, there's already a lack  restaurants...and the one's that are there you wouldn't want to go unless you feeling like dropping a wad a cash.

En Fuego is a cool local joint at the exit before you exit to Ko'lina.
Garlic Chicken and seared Ahi tuna was AWEsome..and its all around or under $10.
Look out for the spicy garlic sauce...that stuff is bomb.

It's quite a drive outside of Honolulu...and traffic going there in the afternoon is pretty lame..but if you're in the neighborhood..definitely check it out!

Matsumoto's Grocery Store

Is this place even a grocery store???

Anyways, Matsumoto's is a famous shaved ice place in Oahu.
The main sell of this place is the shaved ice..and then there's t-shirts and other trinkets for sale on the side.

Cool place to check out..."just to say that you've been there"
Very good...and very cheap...but....
Just keep in mind it's at least a HOUR drive from Honolulu...and then there's at least another 20 minute wait to order.

Next time  I'm just going to Wailoa's Shaved ice..

Giovanni's Shrimp Truck

Fresh Jumbo Shrimps on the North Shore...

Very good shrimps.....but WOW...lonnnnnng lines on the weekends, and the outdoor seating is questionable at best.

There's normal, butter and spicy flavors, and you get 12 shrimps for $13 or 6 shrimps for $6. (For a first timer..I would go for the normal flavor). The flavor is very good..and I haven't had shrimp like that in many other places that I have traveled to.

FYI the shrimps aren't  that big...and one plate can barely fill you up (maybe?) .
It's a extremely messy dish..so expect your fingers to get covered in sauce.

DON'T expect the greatest thing ever...but if you're up in the North Shore ...it's worth a look.

Tonkatsu Ginza Bairin

Best tonkatsu in Hawaii!!

Tonkatsu Ginza Bairin is one of the few restaurants in Waikiki that is good and reasonably priced for (around $ 20- $25)

The pork is cooked tender and the katsu is crunchy...nuff' said. Service is beyond excellent, and the ambiance is as good as any izakya.

Don't get suckered into those tourist traps!..this place is legit

Special Thai Restaurant

Being one of the few Thai places in the South Bay area, Special Thai Restaurant offers decent Thai food at a very reasonable price ($6.99 for lunch and $9.99 for dinner) . Cheap buffet., decent Thai food and lots of seating!..This place is pretty amazing!

This place had lots of curry, noodles and salads. Even though compared to a normal Thai restaurant the food might not taste as good...i find this the case for most buffets.

The only problem with this place is you get pretty full off not that much food (Curry and rice is quite filling)..so plan accordingly and map out which foods you are going to get, before you get full!

38 Degrees Ale House & Grill

This place is awesome..if I didn't live so far away..I probably would come here every weekend.

More of a restaurant atmosphere than Father's Office or even Yard House, 38 Degrees Ale House and Grill still has plenty of beer and food with none of the massive lines and wait that the other places have.

Waitress was awesome..and recommended beers and pairings based on personal preference. Also look out for their beer specials..last time I was there they had a "Mayan brew" celebrating the end of the world 12-21-12!
