The Rabbit Hole

Wow, what can I say, there's a small piece of Wonderland in the Valley! Its a Alice in Wonderland themed bar. The drinks are decently priced (Of course top shelf is still top shelf). The music is loud...they have the most bizarre movies and shows playing in the background. Its probably one of the most tripy experiences I've had. FYI it gets super crowded..so go early!

CAVITEÑA Filipino Restaurant

Filipino food is quite heavy, but very good

Cavitena is an awesome Point Point (its a Filipino version of Panda express) in the South Bay. The staff was very nice and friendly explaining all of the dishes. The prices and food was all very decent. Excellent chicken adobe and beef steak. They even carry lechon kawali (fried pork).

The menu rotates every day, so some items aren't available every day. After you finish eating, save some room for halo halo, which Cavitena also carries. Definitely  would recommend if you are in the mood for heavier food.

The Route 58 Delicatessen

Oh wow. Their slogan is "if you finish, we made a mistake".

Reubens, pastrami and corn beef sandwiches are served in 1/2 or 1 pound servings. The super Reuben is served in 2 pound servings. All the food is tasty..but the pastrami looked the best to me.

The big tip for going to this place is taking a bite or two of the sandwich, and save room for cheesecake, and then take the rest of the meat home for left overs.

Texas Road House

Good place, pick your steak and ask them to cook it! There's not too much to say about this place except if you have meat craving, it definitely will satisfy it.

You walk in, there's a case full of steak. You can either point a steak to cook, or look at the menu to cook it. The service is good. Interesting concept, especially for people from the west coast...but nothing to travel to Virginia just to visit.

Hair of the Dog Eatery

Perfect hangover or round 2 spot if you're eating by Old Dominion University.

Food was quite tasty, and meant to be perfect comfort food. I got the "Hair of the Dog burger", which was a burger that used waffles as buns. This place also has a decent beer and spirit selection, would suggest the "manmosa" to go along with your meal.

El Jardín del Califa

Very nice restaurant. It's beneath a hotel, down what looks like a dudgeon of some sort. Once you arrive, there are severs waiting on you to sit you down. The ambiance was very pleasant; very date night like, with lite candles, and if you're lucky stone walls surrounding you. The food here is almost all Moroccan here, so don't expect tortillas, or small tapas here! The BBQ platters were good, baked lamb leg, and other things like hummus and Peta bread were all very good. if you end of in Spain on your honeymoon or on a date, this is a place to impress that other person.

La Bodeguita

So..first time in this region of Spain. A couple of coworkers take me to Vejer de la Frontera, which is a "white city on the hill".

La Bodeguita was a small pub on the way to the restaurant so we decide to drop in. Very cool, very European. Has your basic Spanish beers, and assorted cocktails (taste more sweet than the American stuff..but not syrupy). The inside of the place is like a medieval castle, which goes along with the rest of the theme of the entire town.
Very cool place, very cool bar..definitely would try again!

Shin-Sen-Gumi Yakitori -Gardena

As I walked into this restaurant, I was greeted by chants and greetings by the entire staff. Shin Sen Gumi -Yakitori, (there's so many versions), is the closest to going to Japan, without going to Japan.

Lots of skewers to choose from, and each are cooked really well. It does crowded, and they do run out of certain items (which is a sign that they do really care about meats and there is high demand). I would definitely recommend ordering a different variety of items. Don't limit yourself to one type of meat!

Tea Brick

Happy New Year!! 2015 I only had 5 post, definitely adding more this coming year.......

Another Boba shop in the land of Boba shops. The Boba at Tea Brick itself was average, especially compared to Honey Boba and Half and Half, the lines were also not re-donk-ulously long. Tea brick does make a name for itself in the actual milk tea and creative smoothie/drink creations, each with a unique female name like Christine and Vanessa. The sea salt creme milk tea was had a very good blend of sea salt and milk tea.

The space is kind of small, and has a very wooden, village type vibe. Good alternate if you dont want to wait for Half and Half down the street on Atlantic.
